Today, Ellipsis Labs is releasing Plasma, an audited reference implementation of the sandwich-resistant AMM design described in Umbra Research.
While sandwich attacks remain a significant challenge in DeFi—extracting millions of dollars daily from retail traders—most existing solutions focus on infrastructure-layer mitigations requiring the privatization of order flow. Plasma takes a different path by implementing sandwich resistance at the application layer, making atomic sandwich attacks unprofitable by design.
We're making this reference implementation available to help advance the ecosystem's understanding and development of more robust DEX architectures, improving DeFi for all.
